Recipients of the Agnes Lucille Craft Greene Memorial Scholarship

Agnes Lucille Craft Greene was born in Dallas, TX on November 20, 1947. Agnes married Charles Edward (Joe) Greene on January 28, 1968. She was the mother to three children Major, Delon and Joquel. Agnes graduated from UNT in 1973 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration. She devoted her life to unselfishly serving others. She served on the University of North Texas Alumni Association Board of Directors. She was an honorary co-chair for the Denton County Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Walk in 2010.

In 2015, Agnes was honored by Philia Works of Houston, Incorporated for being an inspiration to women. She was originally diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008. She battled breast cancer three times. Agnes was loved by many and she was a blessing to all who knew her. The Agnes Lucille Craft Greene Memorial Scholarship at UNT was established by her family to honor her love for UNT and her love for helping those in need

The Agnes Lucille Craft Greene Memorial Scholarship criteria: 

1. Applicants must meet the University Scholarship Committee's minimum entrance and ongoing academic performance criteria in effect at the time of any award;

2. Maintain full-time enrollment in any degree-granting program at the University, unless they are nearing the completion of their degree program and do not require full-time enrollment;

3. Submit an essay detailing their personal experience with surviving breast cancer, or the experience of a parent or guardian who has survived breast cancer. If no applicant meets this criterion, the funds will be reserved for future awards.
